Beaches – Turks and Caicos, Providenciales
Located on the idyllic island of Providenciales, this gorgeous resort is situated on the white sand beach of Grace Bay. This beach has fine sand, gentle family-friendly entry, and snorkeling offshore, perfect for guests of all ages.
As the family brand of the Sandals resorts, Beaches exemplifies the luxury included vacation experience the brand has offered its guests for the last 40 years. Guests find plenty to do with water sports including stand-up paddle boarding, kayaking, snorkeling, SCUBA, and swimming. Land-based options include bocce, trivia, beach volleyball, tennis, corn-hole, giant chess, board games galore, and trivia contests.
The onsite waterpark has a lazy river and multiple water slides and a surf training pool. An ice cream truck and a mac-and-cheese truck are nearby, providing kid favorite flavors and fun fuel for all the activity. There are 10 pools on the property.
Sesame Street characters provide the opportunity for character breakfasts and interactive activities. Grover’s Letter of the Day and puppet building with Bert and Ernie are favorites.
Beaches boasts 21 onsite restaurants, each with its own theme and culinary quality the Sandals brands are known for. Guests are sure to enjoy the delicious cuisine. Food allergies and special diets are given great care and consideration. There are even adult-only restaurants, and parents can pay a reasonable fee for private childcare to have a date night if they wish to have some quiet time to reconnect in the beauty of the island.
For an additional fee, there is a luxurious on-site spa. Off-site excursions are also available.
Nickelodeon Hotels and Resorts- Punta Cana, Dominican Republic
Located in the Uvero Alto region of the Dominican Republic, the Nickelodeon Resort is an oasis of family fun! The Nick Aqua waterpark is the center of this delightful resort by Karisma, filled with water slides, giant buckets, and splash pads. A highlight is the 3 p.m. daily mass sliming! Private slimings are available for an additional cost if slime is your thing!
Characters at the resort include SpongeBob SquarePants, Patrick, Dora the Explorer, Boots, Paw Patrol’s Chase and Marshall, the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, and the Cosmo and Wanda from the Fairly Odd Parents. See the characters at Character Central, or at one of the comedy shows. Character breakfasts may be arranged for an additional fee.
The resort is large, so there are golf carts that drive around to assist in getting you from place to place if desired. The sports hub is a great place for older kids and teens to hang out, with a clubhouse, tennis, basketball, ping-pong, and foosball to name a few!
Food options are plentiful, with 10 restaurants, 2 bars, and 24-hour room service. A Hog Roast is available on Fridays at noon, as well as a daily BBQ on the beach. Sugarcane offers made-to-order Caribbean specialties throughout the day. From a casual quick bite to a formal meal, there is plenty to choose from.
The accommodations are built for families. The Resort offers 208 suites, including swim-out suites and villas, with modern theming and colors based on the Nickelodeon brand. The star accommodation is The Pineapple, and the entire suite is based on SpongeBob SquarePants!
Dreams Aventuras – Riviera Maya, Mexico
Guests looking for a smaller resort experience can find it here! Located in the gated community of Puerto Aventuras, you will find Dreams Aventuras. An AMR Collection by Hyatt property, this lovely resort is tucked away on a beachfront in a marine community and has an onsite aquarium with sea lions and manatees.
Recent renovations to the resort give the accommodations a modern and fresh feel. Several waterslides onsite and a sheltered beach area provide an excellent area for kids to play and enjoy the sunshine. The Explorers Club for kids ages 3-12 provides various activities daily.
Adults can enjoy the adults-only pool area and for an additional fee, the Spa. There are six gourmet restaurants to enjoy as well as nightly entertainment from a talented staff of performers.
Those wishing to leave the resort have many options to choose from. Ancient ruins, natural Cenotes, and eco-parks such as Xel-ha and Xcaret are all nearby. Excursions, although an additional fee, can provide a wonderful opportunity to experience the culture of the destination. Many options are available to book ahead with your travel agent. You will also find an excursion desk in the lobby.
Golf cart rentals are available to explore the many shopping and dining options available in the gated community of Puerto Aventuras, although many locations are walkable as well. The hotel concierge can assist you with the rental or any questions.
